Korean Astrology · 사주팔자 · Four Pillars of Destiny

The Korean birth chart that reads your timing, not just your type.

Saju is Korean astrology — the Eastern answer to your zodiac sign. Where your horoscope gives you one sun sign, saju reads four pillars hidden in the moment of your birth: your Day Master, your five-element balance, and the decade luck cycles shaping your life. What your chart reveals

日柱

Your Day Master

The core of saju: which of the ten celestial stems you are — Towering Tree, Blazing Sun, Polished Jewel, Open Ocean… — and what that says about how you think, love, and lead.

五行

Five Element Balance

Every chart carries a unique mix of wood, fire, earth, metal, and water. Your dominant and missing elements explain your strengths, blind spots, and what restores you.

大運

Decade Luck Cycles

Saju's signature: life moves in 10-year currents. See which decade you're in now, when your strongest seasons arrive, and which years ask for patience.

Which of the ten are you?

Questions, answered

What is saju (사주)?

Saju, or Saju Palja ("Four Pillars, Eight Characters"), is Korea's thousand-year-old system for understanding personality and life's timing. Your birth year, month, day, and hour each form a pillar of two characters — a heavenly stem and an earthly branch — and together those eight characters map your innate temperament, talents, relationships, and the timing of your life's seasons. Think of it as a structured lens for self-reflection, the way millions use it in Korea today.

How is saju different from Western astrology?

Western astrology reads planetary positions; saju reads time itself through the lens of the five elements (wood, fire, earth, metal, water) and their cycles. It is less about your 'sign' and more about the dynamic balance of energies you were born with — and crucially, it includes decade-by-decade luck cycles that describe when things shift.

Do I need my exact birth time?

Your birth time creates the fourth (hour) pillar, which sharpens the reading — but year, month, and day alone already reveal your day master, element balance, and luck cycles. If you don't know it, choose "I don't know" and you'll still get a meaningful three-pillar reading.

How is the chart calculated?

We compute your pillars with a precise lunisolar calendar engine — the same solar-term boundaries (like ipchun, the start of spring) professional Korean saju masters use. The interpretation is then written by AI trained to read your actual chart data, not generic horoscope templates.

Is saju used in Korea today?

Enormously. Koreans consult saju for new years, career moves, compatibility before marriage, even naming babies — it's a billion-dollar tradition that's now having a global moment thanks to K-culture.
